After a Foreclosure Sale Scheduled for June 26, There Will Be a New Owner at the Olema RV Resort and Campground.  Meet Novato attorney Alan Brayton, who will likely take over when his loan is foreclosed, and hear about his immediate plans - keeping the campground open and making it more profitable.  A sale to the Point Reyes National Seashore seems off the table, for now.  George Clyde reports.

News – Thursday, June 7 – The Fouling Communities of Tomales Bay posted Thu Jun 7 05:37:15 2012

Researchers from the Marine Invasions Laboratory of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Centre Brave the Elements in Tomales Bay to Study Non-Native "Sea Snot" and More.  A shivering Dr. Gail Ashton tells George Clyde about why she and Dr. Andy Chang are placing collector panels in Tomales Bay to research the marine "fouling communities" and how invasive species spread along the California coast.  Link to the Smithsonian laboratory.

Last Week the Olema Inn and Restaurant Got a New Life with New Owners and a New Vision.  KWMR's George Clyde interviews Margaret Grade of Mankas Inverness Lodge about what she and her partner Daniel DeLong plan for the restaurant and accommodations, purchased last week - a casual, welcoming atmosphere in line with the historic roadhouse's tradition.  After minor remodeling, they expect to open in about two months.

Eight Local Businesses from the East Shore and Point Reyes Station Spent a Day at Marconi Conference Center Preparing for the "Big One."  West Marin Disaster Council coordinator Libby Colman explains the particular needs of local businesses to deal with their operations and employees, and perhaps to attend to thousands of stranded tourists.  Anton Konatich of Tony's Seafood Restaurant tells George Clyde what he learned at the presentation by the Red Cross.

Wednesday, May 30 – First Muir Beach Fire Chief Retires After 40 Years posted Wed May 30 05:55:45 2012

At the Annual Barbecue Sunday, the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department Celebrated its 40th Anniversary and the Retirement of its First Fire Chief.  After four decades, retiring Chief John Sward tells Brenda Kohn about the early 1970s, when he was chosen as the first fire chief.  Starting with a 20-year-old fire truck and hand-me-down gear, the volunteer group has developed into a well trained professional fire department, now headed by Chief Steve Wynn.
