Whooping Cough (Pertussis) is Surging Nationally after Hitting Record Levels in California, and West Nile Virus Appears in Petaluma - What Does it Mean for West Marin? Coastal Health Alliance's Medical Director Dr. Michael Witte tells George Clyde that up-to-date vaccinations for whooping cough are essential to protect individuals and the community, and that the threat of serious illness from West Nile virus, transmitted by mosquitoes, is quite small.
