Sold Out! KWMR Presents The 7th Annual, Award Winning acoustic Americana duets
Featuring: David and Tracy Grisman Nina Gerber and Terry Garthwaite (replacing Chris Webster) Jim Nunally and Judy Forrest
high quality libations. It all benefits local radio KWMR 90.5 fm and 89.7 fm.
Performer Bios: David Grisman will perform alongside his real-life sweetheart, Tracy Grisman on guitar and vocals. For more than 40 years, mandolinist/composer David Grisman has been busy creating "dawg" music, a blend of many stylistic influences (including swing, bluegrass, Latin, jazz and gypsy) so unique he gave it its own name. In doing so, David has inspired a whole new genre of acoustic string instrumental music with style and virtuosity while creating a unique niche for himself in the world of contemporary music. Praised for his mastery of the instrument as well as his talents as a composer, bandleader, teacher and record producer by the New York Times, David’s role as an acoustic innovator continues to grow. After recording for several major and independent labels, Grisman founded his own company, Acoustic Disc, which he runs from his studio in northern California. After launching the label in 1990, David entered the most prolific period of his distinguished career, producing over 50 critically acclaimed, high quality recordings of acoustic music (five of which have been nominated for Grammy Awards).
Nina Gerber Bio: Nina Gerber is an acoustic guitar virtuoso who began her career accompanying the late folk icon, Kate Wolf. She went on to be the pioneer behind the Kate Wolf Music Festival. Nina's career has expanded far beyond the bounds of Kate Wolf s music, without diluting that honesty and passion. Nina has performed and/or recorded with: Queen Ida, Jerry Jeff Walker, Nanci Griffith, Ferron, Steve Seskin, Rosalie Sorrels, Vicki Randle, Barbara Higbie, Greg Brown, Peter Yarrow, Rhiannon, Teresa Trull, Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, Dianne Davidson, Betsy Rose, Carol McComb, Kristina Olsen, Terry Garthwaite, and many others. Nina continues to prove with her guitar that some of the truest and most emotional communication requires no words. Still, when combined with the voice of another musician of heart, the result is affecting in an unforgettable way.

Jim is a two-time Western Open Flatpicking and Master Guitar Picking Champion. He regularly tours with Canada's John Reischman and the Jaybirds, and California's David Grisman Bluegrass Experience. Judy performs in the Bay Area's old-time/early country trio No Hiding Place, and with Jim. http://www.jimnunally.com/
