Summer Truly Begins This Saturday as the Point Reyes Farmers' Market Opens for the Season at Toby's Feed Barn.  Market Manager Allison Puglisi tells George Clyde about how organic and local the market is (more or less) and introduces some new vendors.  Fundraising is ongoing, with $4,000 from the County and with West Marin Community Services replacing Marin Organic as fiscal agent for tax deductible contributions.

Point Reyes Station's Biggest Eyesore, the Two-Story Brick Grandi Building, May Have Its Makeover Commence this Fall.  Property manager Marshall Livingston is helping owner Kenneth Wilson renew permits to restore the exterior to its earlier grandeur, hopefully starting the one-year project in October.  This will be the first step to revitalize the nearly 100-year-old vacant building as a hotel and restaurant.  George Clyde reports.

Next Week the State Water Resources Control Board Will Finalize the AB-885 Septic System Policy, with Many Implications for West Marin.  George Clyde speaks with Norman Hantzsche of Questa Engineering regarding the new regulations, which particularly affect properties close to Tomales Bay, Lagunitas Creek and the beaches at Bolinas and Muir Beach, and gets some advice about what to do before the regulations are effective next year.  Link for more information.
