Round Up: ”Looking Forward”

”Looking forward!”
October 21, 2025
Thank you to everyone who came out for KWMR’s Parachute Days celebration and for the folks that joined us at The Old Western Saloon for some great music last Tuesday. You may have run into some KWMR staff and board members at one of the recent Health Fairs. We have been busy.
Last week we launched Message Station Maker and over 100 of you have already signed up to get text messages when we take to the airwaves with verified emergency information about storms, road closures, fires, or other incidents that affect West Marin. If you have not done so yet, you can do so HERE. It’s easy! We won’t be bombing you with unnecessary information. Only when necessary and only when information is updated. KWMR will still announce information on the airwaves every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour (more frequently when warranted).
Since we are on the topic of incidents and events, how about I tell you about our next three events. I know for sure that KWMR will be handing out treats to trick-or-treaters from 5 to 7:30 ish on Friday the 31st of October which just happens to be Halloween! Boo.
KWMR is helping to get the word out about a fundraiser for FAR – Las Familias Afectadas De Rancho De PRNS on November 1st in Point Reyes Station at 11180 Highway 1. It starts at 5:30 PM and a lovely dinner will be prepared by the families that are facing the loss of their jobs and their housing.
On Saturday, November 15th Griffo Distillery in Petaluma is hosting a fundraiser for KMWR with the Space Orchestra. The event is on the early side – 5 PM – totally in my wheelhouse. We hope that you can join us, especially listeners in the 707 area code. We want to meet you!
On December 4th (a Thursday), also at 5 PM the Station House Cafe is hosting a private fundraising event for KWMR. You can snap up the limited tickets HERE. There will be appetizers, a raffle, and an intimate concert with Jesse DeNatale. What a great way to kick off the holiday season.
Thank you for your support!
