It has been pretty quiet around here the past few weeks. Not the KWMR airwaves, but at the KWMR offices here in the Creamery Building. KWMR is a small but nimble team. There are seven of us who work here, but that adds up to only 3.6 full time equivalent employees. Even with only two full time staff (Program Director Jeff Manson and me), we get all the stuff done. Even with two folks out for two weeks, we manage to keep things running smoothly.

Thankfully, the over 100 volunteer programmers continue to bring conversations, songs, interviews, nature sounds, and literature and poetry read aloud to you all. And Professor Kozmo (KWMR’s automation system) is always there if we need them.

KWMR has two offices in the building. The most obvious one houses the on-air studio, the music library and work space for three people. That is Suite 8, snuggled in between Barbara the Village Snipper and Freda’s physical therapy studio. That is what we call “upstairs” since you do have to go up the stairs to get there. The other, Suite 1, is “downstairs” to the north and the first office around the corner. That is where the other employees work, and where my office is located. We call that “the annex.”

I apologize if anyone showed up and found the place locked up. If you are coming by for any reason, it’s good to check both suites (#1 & #8). Barbara Keady, at the hair salon gets plenty of inquiries about the station, and you are always welcome to leave things for KWMR (within reason, of course) with her. She is our trusted friend, and cuts many of our hair!

It’s frankly really nice to see our folks get some time away from the station to spend with their loved ones and family members. 

It was fun seeing some of you out at the Inverness Fair this year! 

And speaking of Barbara Keady. Eight years ago I gave her one  rooted fiddle-leaf fig leaf in a pot. On Saturday I helped her repot her ginormous plant!

And a shout out to Ingrid Noyes who advised on said plant repotting and likely saved the plant from catastrophic damage!
